Swimming WA is pleased to be running the Primary School Relays this April the 1st,2010 at the Bayswater Waves Aquatic Centre. Due to budget requirements and development expectations the event will only be going ahead if 10 Primary Schools take part and a total of 120 entries are received. Please find more information under Development/Club Development. Make sure your Primary School enters this fantastic event!

Swimming WA hosted a Team WA Open Presentation Evening at the Department of Sport and Recreation on Friday 5th March 2010 to recognise and reward our swimmers who are competing at a national level.

Thirty four West Australian swimming athletes will embark on Sydney for the 2010 Telstra Australian Swimming Championships at Olympic Park Aquatic Centre from 16th to 21st March 2010.

The Australian Sports Commission (ASC) and Australian Government Office for Women are looking to develop the next generation of female leaders in sport by offering the 2010/11 Sport Leadership Grants and Scholarships for Women (SLGSfW). Substantial funding for organisations and individuals is available, with applications now open. Women from all areas and levels of the Australian sports community are encouraged to apply, including women involved in sport as managers, administrators, coaches, officials, and women in sport governance and media/communications.

18/03/2010 SWA Time Trials at State Junior Championships

Swimming WA is aware that some of our members are a fraction off meeting a qualifying time for the National Australian Age Championships.

As such, we are pleased to offer them another chance to achieve this goal. Time trials will be run for one (1) hour between sessions at the State Junior Championships, to be held at Challenge Stadium, next Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 March.

Shell Novice Swim Meets

The last of the Shell Novice Swim Meet results for this year are in! Well done to Lesmurdie on a great meet. These results will be combined with the overall results soon and then a list of competitors for the Shell Final will be up on the website next week. Letters will be sent out to all finalists. Keep Sunday the 28th of March free in case you are a finalist at the Terry Tyzack Aquatic Centre. 25m swimmers will race between 8.30am and 10am in the short course indoor pool while 50m swimmers will race between 10am and 1pm in the outdoor long course pool. If you have any questions please contact Sam sam@wa.swimming.org.au.  
5/03/2010 Final Results
The final combined results are in. When viewing these please take into account that those who swam in combined events (listed as 13A for example) which had more than one age group, will be included in their own age group for the competitor list to come next week. Congratulations to all who took part. Please see below for more information about the final.
9/03/2010 Shell Final
The Shell Final is rapidly approaching and competitors for the event have been finalised. Please find a list of all events including the competitors below. All of these athletes will be sent a letter through Swimming WA or the host club regarding their place in the final. For those who are registered for the final but can’t wait for their letter, an example of the letter is attached with details of the meet and how to RSVP. All those who have been selected in reserve events will get the chance to compete on the day. Well done to everyone who took part in a Shell Meet. We look forward to seeing the finalists on Sunday the 28th of March!
