2/03/2010 2010 Indian Ocean All Stars Challenge and International Coaching Conference

 The 2010 Indian Ocean All Stars Challenge will be held on the 3rd and 4th April 2010 at Challenge Stadium. Entries Closed

The 2010 International Coaching Conference will be held on Monday 5th April at the University of Western Australia. Entries close 22nd March.

3/03/2010 2010 Age Multi Class Championships – Wrap Up
Six West Australian athletes attended the 2010 Australian Age Multi Class Championships at the AIS pool in Canberra from Friday 26th through to Sunday 28th February.
4/03/2010 Primary School Relays
Swimming WA is pleased to be running the Primary School Relays this April the 1st,2010 at the Bayswater Waves Aquatic Centre. Due to budget requirements and development expectations the event will only be going ahead if 10 Primary Schools take part and a total of 120 entries are received. Please find more information under Development/Club Development. Make sure your Primary School enters this fantastic event!

8/03/2010 2010 Team WA Open Presentation Evening
Swimming WA hosted a Team WA Open Presentation Evening at the Department of Sport and Recreation on Friday 5th March 2010 to recognise and reward our swimmers who are competing at a national level.
9/03/2010 2010 Telstra Australian Swimming Championships
Thirty four West Australian swimming athletes will embark on Sydney for the 2010 Telstra Australian Swimming Championships at Olympic Park Aquatic Centre from 16th to 21st March 2010.
10/03/2010 2010-11 Sport Leadership Grants and Scholarships for Women
The Australian Sports Commission (ASC) and Australian Government Office for Women are looking to develop the next generation of female leaders in sport by offering the 2010/11 Sport Leadership Grants and Scholarships for Women (SLGSfW). Substantial funding for organisations and individuals is available, with applications now open. Women from all areas and levels of the Australian sports community are encouraged to apply, including women involved in sport as managers, administrators, coaches, officials, and women in sport governance and media/communications.

11/03/2010 Winter Almanac Order Form 2010

Swimming WA is now taking orders for hard copies of the The 2010 Winter Almanac. The Winter Almanac will be designed in a new user-friendly format and will also be available online for downloading for those that don’t wish to purchase a hard copy. If a hard copy version is preferred there will be a small fee of $5.00 per Almanac due to the costs associated with design and printing.

If you wish to purchase the Winter Almanac please fill out the order form attached by 5pm 12th March 2010 and fax to: 08 9227 6089 or via email clare@wa.swimming.org.au

Shell Novice Swim Meets
2/03/2010 Lawley Shell Meet
The Mt Lawley Swimming Club Shell Meet results are ready to be seen. Well done to all participants. Remember to all competitors that the Shell Final is on the 28th of March at the Terry Tyzack Aquatic Centre in Inglewood. Keep this date free in case you are in the top ten for an event overall!
3/03/2010 Progressive Results
We are only one month away from the Shell Final and the progressive results are looking tight. There is only one more lot of results to come in from clubs before the invitation letters are sent out. Make sure you keep the morning of the 28th free in case you are lucky enough to be invited to the final. Please note that the final results will exclude the ‘18A’ style events which were run for two age groups. We look forward to seeing a talented group of swimmers at the Terry Tyzack Aquatic Centre at the end of the month!

5/03/2010 Lesmurdie Results
The last of the Shell Novice Swim Meet results for this year are in! Well done to Lesmurdie on a great meet. These results will be combined with the overall results soon and then a list of competitors for the Shell Final will be up on the website next week. Letters will be sent out to all finalists. Keep Sunday the 28th of March free in case you are a finalist at the Terry Tyzack Aquatic Centre. 25m swimmers will race between 8.30am and 10am in the short course indoor pool while 50m swimmers will race between 10am and 1pm in the outdoor long course pool. 5/03/2010 Final Results
The final combined results are in. When viewing these please take into account that those who swam in combined events (listed as 13A for example) which had more than one age group, will be included in their own age group for the competitor list to come next week. Congratulations to all who took part. Please see below for more information about the final.
9/03/2010 Shell Final
The Shell Final is rapidly approaching and competitors for the event have been finalised. Please find a list of all events including the competitors below. All of these athletes will be sent a letter through Swimming WA or the host club regarding their place in the final. For those who are registered for the final but can’t wait for their letter, an example of the letter is attached with details of the meet and how to RSVP. All those who have been selected in reserve events will get the chance to compete on the day. Well done to everyone who took part in a Shell Meet. We look forward to seeing the finalists on Sunday the 28th of March!
